about

PRESS

“A great debut album… These tracks lull us with his very nice and rather classic folk music… A real pleasure!” – diffuser.net

“Good Day Mr. Magpie is a journey album… Ben Avison is a perceptive songwriter and good at turning his observations into short stories that help spark off thoughts about the people and circumstance of their creation” – FATEA Magazine

"A multi-talented musician" - Oxfordshire Guardian

“Ben Avison has a beautifully rich voice and a very poetic view in the lyrics of his own compositions” – Craven Herald & Pioneer

“An authentic expression of the soul and an inspired product of a carefully honed craft of songwriting… Whether it's contemplations of landscape ("The Valley"), or expressions of a more theatrical and slightly retro air (the delightful "The Real World"), the understated English tones naturally lend themselves to the stories told.” – www.musicwontsaveyou.com

“Rise Kagona, a musical icon, has been busy lately, appearing on Ben Avison’s debut album Good Day Mr Magpie…” – The South African
